Meet Kevin Ross
I am a proud Colorado native. I grew up outside of Eaton, where I went to school. My dad, Steve, worked for the USDA and my mom, Deb, was an assistant to the counselor at Eaton High School. I have a younger brother, Travis, who also went to Eaton.
In high school, I was very involved. I participated in multiple clubs and was a letterman in football, wrestling, and track.
I started working on our family's dryland wheat farm when I was in the 6th grade. I would spend my entire summers working on the farm. Along with getting a few blisters, I also learned valuable lessons about hard work and the value of a dollar.
I received my Bachelor's Degree in Finance from the University of Wyoming. UW is where I met my wife Amy.
After college I started work as a financial advisor where I helped people plan for retirement and other life experiences. After a few years, I had an opportunity to own my own business and I jumped at it. I became and insurance agent and agency owner. I enjoyed helping my clients protect their assets and plan for their future.
I sold my successful agency after 17 years, as I was looking for a new challenge. I soon became Vice President of a private equity company. I am in charge of our water assets and fly ash businesses.
I coached Eaton high school football for 13 years where we were blessed to have many great athletes and enjoyed great success. Four of our athletes have played or are currently playing in the NFL. I thoroughly enjoyed my time helping young men learn lessons about life on and off the field.
I started my political career as an Eaton Town Trustee and later as Eaton Mayor. As a small-town mayor, I still had to work through big-time issues, water, infrastructure, personnel, and transportation.
Appointed weld county Commissioner
I was appointed to fill the vacancy on the Board of Weld County Commissioners. I stepped in, hit the ground running and provided valuable insight, and leadership to the board.
Amy and I have been married going on 22 years. We have two wonderful daughters who attend Eaton High School. We attend Eaton Community Church, where I have also led various Bible study groups.
"I love Weld County, and I am excited to earn your vote to work for you and the county once again and continue to make Weld a great place to grow up and raise a family."
